James Broughton

When I hoarded blueprints for a jocund city
where the rights of the daft would be civil law
I combed the atlas for magnanimous harbors

Now on the shipwreck end of adventure
when my daily order reads Stay Awake!
my timbers are too shivered for a maiden voyage

Expeditions to colonize an Elysian Isle
must await launching in some other lifetime
Today my horizon has shrunk to a bathtub

Creeping decrepitude, crawl away!
